About Monday
Wine encompasses everything in life that I love — history, sense of place, culture, and connection. Monday Wine Consulting is built on a passion for great wines from thoughtful people around the world. I have a deep appreciation for wines that are grown and produced with care and reverence for tradition, but with a willingness to adapt, change, and push the boundaries. During my time in the wine business, I have been fortunate to be exposed to so many exceptional wines with compelling backstories. This venture was created as a direct result of wanting to share these wines with others.
Monday Wine Consulting works with trusted purveyors. Bottles are procured directly from the chateau, winery, or domaine, from direct importers (for newer releases), from reputable cellars in Europe, or from collectors who purchased the wines upon release.
A bit about me
I remember one lunch in particular, almost 10 years ago, that sparked my interest in wine. Everything just clicked- how wine, paired with great food and conversation, can make time warp and stretch in such a special way. I dove in headfirst — getting my first job in the industry at Folktale Winery in Carmel and passing my Introductory Sommelier exam soon after. A little over a year after that lunch- the one that piqued my curiosity- I was hired as sommelier at Aubergine. This opened up a whole new world of wine to me - it felt like waking up. I was so excited to taste anything and everything, and learned all I could. The more that I learned, the more I realized how much more there was to grasp. I passed the Certified Sommelier exam almost a year after my hire at Aubergine.
In 2019, Aubergine was awarded its first Michelin Star. In 2020, I took over the wine program and spent the next four years building our 800 bottle selection to over 1500 selections. The program specializes in wines from Champagne, Burgundy, the Rhone Valley, and Germany. Wine is my creative outlet, how I express myself. In 2023, the Michelin Guide California awarded me with the Sommelier of the Year award. This recognition was incredibly humbling with how many truly exceptional wine professionals there are in California.
Through Monday Wine Consulting, I hope to continue doing what I love, by connecting people to wines I am passionate about— wines created by people who are thoughtful and conscientious about everything they do. At the heart of it all is connection — a bottle of wine shared with friends, over a great meal, which can transform even a Monday into something special.
